West Coast Travels

First time out on the was...although it was filled with early mornings and work...it was an absolute blast!

After an adventure in and of itself getting out to San Jose; I finally got to my hotel. Met back up with the team and decided to head to San Francisco!

San Fran introduced me to Ruby Skye - best 'luxury' night club in the city- which was a very interesting place. Starting with the creepy old guy who shoved his way through the crowd and attempted to hit on the young girls who were standing by themselves. To make matters worse his dance moves resembled Shrek attempting to remove a refrigerator box from his shoulders/head. There was also the uber-hipster Asian kids who flashed some dance moves I could have never imagined. Finally a night club would not be a night club without the crazy ecstasy-induced dancing which looks like Cinemax after 2:00 AM. The San Fran clubbin' experience was unforgettable to say the least.

Later on in the week we ventured into downtown San Jose. Bouncing around from bar-to-bar...the Irish Pub and the Wild West Bar were the best. The western themed bar served mugs of beer that were bigger than my hand (literally).

BevMo was another amazing part about San Jose. This is the Costco of beverage/snacks. They had everything from obscure independent soft-drinks, caffeinated beef jerky, top-shelf liquor, and an assortment of imported beers from just about every country you can think of.

The local mall in Milpitas, California had everything from outlet stores, to regular stores, Outback Steakhouse, movie theater, Dave & Buster's, and a glow-in-the-dark mini golf course. This mall was located right across the street from out hotel. I saw Inception and Salt while out there. And visited Dave & Buster's about five times in a week. The customer base in San Jose was skewed heavily toward minorities...while in Dave & Buster's I thought I was an extra in Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift.

San Jose was also home to Sean "Arcade Basketball" Prodigy. Sean was at most six years old and barely over three feet tall, but was dynamite at arcade basketball. He would set the high score every time he played the game...rifling the balls like a shotgun banking in every shot. Afterwards he would turn to his dad for approval. Please view the video because word do not due it justice...

Wild times out on the Coast. Looking forward to another trip to Cali'. Until then it will be the Music City and the rest of Tennessee for now!
