A Wedding and Reunion in Jacksonville

It was a drive up I-95 from Miami to Jacksonville. The stop in Jacksonville was a great one - mostly because I was reunited with the fam for a wedding. Arriving at the hotel located right on the river on Friday afternoon. It was so great to see everyone considering it had been since August since I was able to see them. Friday evening we ate at Metro Diner (which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives) and the food was delicious. The appetizers featured shrimp and grits, Italian egg-rolls, and a dessert-like pastry with raisins and nuts. For the main course I had pot roast and mashed potatoes...but also sample their world's famous meatloaf! After the dinner we headed to the River City Brewing Company where the party continued.

The next day featured some college football watching and then the wedding itself. I rode in the stretch Escalade to the ceremony where we had a pre-ceremony happy hour outside on the riverfront. Then the cocktail hour after the ceremony was where the lamb chops and lobster macaroni-n-cheese where delicious. Beef tenderloin, Grouper, Shrimp and Grits, and Asparagus were served for dinner (which like everything else was delicious). Dinner ended and it was time to hit the dance floor...

Back at the hotel we turned the hotel lobby into our very own party room...most of the crowd had headed up to bed, but a select few lingered around for some late night pizza - by the way the couches in the lobby were very comfortable...haha!
